Sehr schade!!

Wir kämpfen weiter!!

🇬🇧 The second round of the Euromoto series took place in Brno last weekend. The weekend actually kicked off for us as early as Thursday, as all Euromoto riders had the opportunity to take part in an extra day of practice. My health had improved somewhat—unfortunately still not 100%, but "good enough" to get the weekend off to a solid start.

Thursday went perfectly; we were able to put in plenty of laps, and I had the chance to calmly assess my physical condition and determine how much intensity we could push for during the free practice sessions. Since Brno is a circuit known for significant tire wear, we focused right from the start on using our bike setup to optimize tire durability as much as possible.

On Friday, we managed to take another step forward and significantly improve the bike; our pace—even on old, used tires—was excellent. We finished the practice sessions in P11 and the Superpole Pre-Practice in P9.

On Saturday, we had to make our way through Q1 to qualify. Five minutes before the session began, it started to rain—briefly, but heavily. All the other riders headed out on rain tires, but we decided to take a gamble: we waited until the very last moment and took the risk of going out on slicks. The strategy worked perfectly, and we qualified for Q2 without any issues, finishing with a 7-second margin. Unfortunately, for Q2, we had only a single fresh tire left; we deployed it very late in the session and managed to make excellent use of it. Our qualifying result was P7. We were actually very pleased with this outcome, as nailing that single fast lap had been more of a struggle for us throughout the weekend than our actual race pace. Consequently, our excitement for the race itself was all the greater.

Race 1: At the start, I encountered an error on my dashboard while in Launch Control mode, and right as I pulled away, I immediately lost almost all of my track position. The charge to make up ground therefore began right from the very first lap. I wasn't able to recover many positions, however, as I gradually began experiencing more and more issues and struggled to make any forward progress. I finished the race in P12. We were able to identify and resolve the issue from Race 1. Consequently, nothing stood in the way of the second race.

Race 2: At the start, I once again lost power and was dropped far back through the field before the first corner. However, I was able to begin making up ground immediately and gained positions lap after lap. I had reached P10 and was just about to catch up to the group battling for P6 when, unfortunately, I was forced to pull over in the Omega section. Due to a sensor failure, the bike cut out and could not be restarted.

It is all the more frustrating to see, upon analyzing the data afterwards, that our pace from the free practice sessions would have been good enough for an excellent finish. Such a shame!

We keep fighting!
